Jap Ji, 1 (sochai soch naa hov-a-ee)

A girl came back from a watching a movie livid with anger and fury.  Her mom asked her why she was so upset, "At the end," she cried out, "I expected the hero to marry the heroine, but the hero died!"

"But it's just a movie," her mom consoled her.

The girl's fury turned to her mom, "Just a movie?!   Maybe for you old people!  It is not just a movie - it is ... it is much more than that!  I have seen all of the director's movies and every time the hero does marry the heroine - how dare the hero die?!"

Teacher: That in essence is the story of all unenlightened people.  They take life's illusory play too seriously and have expectations which they formed (mostly from watching other lives). And when those expectations are not met - because life is so much bigger than any of us - they become upset and stay in perpetual state of stress.

Seeker:  How do we stay stress-free?
Teacher: Guru Nanak says the first step towards self-realization is acceptance of life as it is, not how you expect it to be.

Seeker: But isn’t that dis-empowering?
Teacher: Quite the opposite - actually you become the co-creator of the Universe!!!  Yes, I know that sounds outlandish and makes no sense at all ...  until you actually experience it, then it becomes your most natural state.

Accepting the will of God which is spontaneously unfolding within you is the way to experience absolute Truth.
